PANews reported on November 17 that according to News.bitcoin, the Russian Ministry of Energy formally proposed to restrict cryptocurrency mining activities in certain special areas affected by energy shortages. Under the latest national cryptocurrency law implemented this month, the authorities have the right to impose such a ban. An anonymous person said that these measures will affect mining operators in these areas from December 1, 2024, until March 15, 2025. Then, every year until at least 2031, these locations will be prohibited from mining between November and March.
