PANews reported on February 21 that the website of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission released the keynote speech of Chief Executive Officer Leung Fung-yee at the seminar of the Vietnam National Securities Commission. She said that the differences in global regulatory approaches pose a severe challenge to the liquidity and compliance of crypto assets. The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission has just released a virtual asset roadmap called "ASPIRe", which points out that the global crypto landscape is polarized, and the regulatory intensity varies, from light regulation to strict review and prohibition. European jurisdictions are implementing unified standards. Although the United States is in a leading position in virtual asset exchange-traded products and derivatives, it still faces the problem of decentralized supervision, which is also the role of the International Organization of Securities Commissions in setting standards.
Ms Leung stressed that regulation is a friend of innovation, not an enemy, and helps create a nurturing environment where innovators can grow responsibly, an approach that supports the sustainable development of the technology ecosystem.
