PANews reported on January 20th, citing Cointelegraph, that security researcher Andrey Sergeenkov pointed out that the recent surge in Ethereum transactions and address activity may stem from a large-scale address poisoning attack exploiting low gas fees. This attack uses "dust attacks" to forge similar addresses, inducing users to transfer funds to incorrect addresses. The Fusaka upgrade reduced transaction fees by over 60%, significantly lowering the cost of this type of attack. Research shows that over 116,000 people have been affected, with cumulative losses exceeding $740,000.
