PANews reported on February 12 that according to Polkadot officials, the 2025 roadmap focuses on promoting multiple updates such as XCM v5 upgrades, Asset Hub smart contracts, Elastic Scaling, and JAM Rust SDK. Among them, the unified address format and DOT as a universal fee token have been completed, and functions such as Fast Unstaking are still under testing.

This upgrade covers EVM-compatible smart contracts, RISC-V virtual machine (PVM), Omni Node unified node solution, and introduces zkSNARK to optimize block production, enhance cross-chain communication and scalability, and further improve the Polkadot ecological infrastructure.
