Taining Court: Issues such as entrusted transactions and management of U-coins are not subject to legal regulation and protection in my country for the time being

PANews reported on February 23 that the Taining Court concluded a contract dispute involving "USDT coin" as a financial management object. In 2021, Jiang and Lin met through others and established a WeChat group to trade "USDT coin". From 2021 to 2022, Jiang transferred about 100,000 yuan to Lin through WeChat and bank transfers, and Lin bought about 76,000 U coins for him. Jiang also designated Lin to buy 81,000 U coins. Jiang transferred his U coins to the platform in multiple times according to Lin's instructions, and Lin operated the experience, but all the funds were exhausted by Lin's operation, so he filed a lawsuit with the court. The court held that according to the current financial regulatory policy, virtual currency belongs to things involving financial and investment attributes that have not been legally registered. The issues of entrusted trading and management of virtual currency, namely U coins, between Jiang and Lin are not currently regulated and protected by law in my country, and the consequences of their actions should be borne by Jiang himself. Therefore, the court ruled to dismiss Jiang’s lawsuit.
