Over 3,000 Mexicans Fall for Suspected Crypto Trading Bot Scam

PANews reported on November 18 that according to Cryptonews, Mexican media revealed that more than 3,000 residents in Tehuacán and Puebla were suspected of being scammed by cryptocurrency trading robots, and the company involved was AMG GPT. The company previously promised "daily returns" and held many promotional activities. However, recently users reported that the platform could not withdraw money, and then the company's four offices in the two places were suddenly closed.

Victims said they were required to pay a "verification fee" to withdraw cash, and were then asked to apply for a high-priced "Crypto-VISA" credit card. It is reported that the early gains made by investors quickly stopped, and some victims invested up to $1,000. AMG GPT finally stated that the delayed withdrawal was related to the "shopping festival event", but this explanation raised more questions. At present, about 100 people have submitted formal complaints to the prosecutor's office, and the case is under further investigation.
